Mangaluru: An accident near Town Hall claimed the life of a woman on Saturday May 2. The deceased has been identified as Prema (56), resident of Vamanjoor.
According to the reports Prema was sitting pillion with her husband Krishna Gatty, who was riding towards the Central market on his two-wheeler.
A city bus hit their scooter, because of which Prema lost balance and fell on the road. The rear tyres of the bus ran over her, killing her on the spot. Krishna Gatty sustained minor injuries.
Prema is survived by her husband, two sons and a daughter, she was also a member of Bajpe gram panchayat.
A large crowd gathered at the spot and helped shifting the body to Wenlock hospital. Pandeshwar police have registered a case.
