Cattle Transportation: one arrested, Three Hindu outfit members held for attack

Bantwal: City police arrested one person in connection with illegal cattle transportation here at Tumbya in B Kasba village on September 19.

The arrested person was  identified as Ivan D’Souza. 3 other accused Taslim, Basheer and Ashoka managed to escape from the spot.

The cattle were transported in pickup vehicle. Hindu outfits, on the basis of a tip off,  informed the police that the cows were stolen from a place called Vogga and were being transported to a slaughter house in Mangalore.

5 cattle, a pickup vehicle and valuables worth 3.36 lakhs along with a bike have been seized.  the accused Ivan dsouza was produced in court and then released on bail.

In a counter complaint filed by Ivan dsouza, it is alleged that some of the members of Hindu outfits had attacked him while transporting cattle. Prashanth, Tilakraj, Umesh and many others attacked him and used abusive words against Christian and Islam religion. They also threatened to kill him.

In connection with this, the police arrested three persons belonging to the hindu outfits and produced them in court. Later they were released on bail.
