Catholic woman marries Hindu man at Arya Samaj

Mangalore: A 21-year old Sonia D’Souza from Yelyapadavu, which is more than 20kms from Mangalore entered wedlock with Roshan M.S, belonging to a Hindu religion. Roshan hails from Bantwal.

The simple marriage ceremony took place according to the Hindu customs in Arya Samaj, Mangalore.

Mother who reached the spot before the marriage ceremony convinced her daughter to come back home. The girl refused to listen to her mother and pledged to live with Roshan. 

Earlier, the parents of Sonia had filed a missing complaint at Konaje police station, when she moved out of the house, with the strong will to marry a man from the Hindu religion. 

The Kadri police recorded the statements of the bride and the bridegroom. 

The marriage, which was held in the evening, was witnessed by two factions belonging to the Hindu and Christian community.
