Car catches fire at Mangalore International airport

Mangalore: A moving car caught fire near the parking lot outside the Mangalore International airport in the evening hours of Thursday October 30.

Reportedly it is learnt that a person named Raja Sheik who had come to receive someone from the airport, was trying to park his car in the parking lot when all of a sudden the car illuminated.

It was a Tata Indigo car with the registration number KA 03 ME 6237, belonging to Sri Ventures. The car was severely damaged in the fire; however the airport staff managed to douse the fire.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident, although the reason for the fire is yet to be established.

The airport director, G T Radhakrishna confirmed that report and informed that the Bajpe police,who along with a few firemen of the airport took control of the situation.
