Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting on Kasturirangan Report postponed

Mangaluru: The meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee in connection to the recommendations of the Kasturirangan Panel has been postponed, according to the press release issued by the district administration.

According to the release, the sub-committee meeting, headed by Forests Minister B. Ramanath Rai to hear the views of people from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi was scheduled to be held on January 27. The release said that the meeting has been postponed. The scheduled date of the meeting will be intimated in the next few days, said a press release.

Conduct scientific study: Shobha

Shobha Karandlaje, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP felt that conducting a sceientific study before the implementation of Kasturirangan report would be better than holding sub-committee meeting. Without opposing its implementation, she said that the state government must conduct a scientific study by visiting the place and submit a report to the central government, she had said.
