Moodbidri: Boating was inaugurated here at Kadalakere nisargadhama in Ontikatte here on August 31. 28,000 fish was also immersed into the nisargadhama. Rotary club, forest department and department of fisheries jointly immersed the Gende and Katla fish in the water.
Youth and fisheries minister K Abhaychandra Jain launched the programme by boating.
Speaking on the occasion he said that Kadalakere has been developed on the Pilikula model. In the year 2012-13 de-silting of the lake was done at the cost of one crore. 25 lakhs has been spent for the construction of stadium and money will be sanctioned for other works to attract more visitors, apart from existing boating and other activities. 2 water scooters will be provided in the nisargadhama within 6 weeks.
