75-yr-old woman hacked to death, stolen car found in Bejai

Mangalore: A 75-year-old lady was hacked to death at her residence in Alake, during the wee hours on Friday August 1.

The victim identified as Sushila, was murdered with a sharp weapon which has inflicted gruesome wound on her neck.

According to the Kadri police, an intruder might have forcefully tried to get inside the house, late at night. A gold chain that Sushila wore and the car parked in her residence was taken, they said.

On the other hand, Sushila’s son Sandeep Shah stays with his wife on the first floor of the same house. However in his statement to the police he said that he only discovered the murder in the morning and was ignorant about the entire situation.

The police investigating the crime, found the car at Automatrix in Bejai, they have seized the car. They further are scrutinizing the matter.

The body was shifted to Wenlock for post-mortem, Kadri police arrived at the spot and investigations are on.
