Mangalore : Kadri police inspector Nagaraj, with the help of police personnel of Shimoga has arrested four persons on the charges of stealing iron rods from a lorry travelling on the Bangalore-Mangalore route and then selling the same.
The arrests were made at Chennarayapattana in Hassan district on Monday July 28. Iron rods weighing 500 kg, a cash of Rs16,000 and a lorry has been seized from the arrested.
Those arrested are Sharath (23), the lorry driver, Avinash (25), Rangaswami (25) and Raju (19), All of them hail from Maadaguddanahalli Bagur Hobali in Chennarayapattana taluk.
They have been charged with stealing iron rods weighing 500 kg from a lorry which was transpiring as much as 23,250 kg weighing rods.
Ravishanker, Sub-inspector and other personnel were part of the operation.
