Kasargod: A 12-year-old student drowned in river Payaswini, near Poinachi on Monday, December 26.
A K Adarsh, aged 12, son of U A Kumar, resident of Mahippadi is the deceased student. Tragedy struck, when he had gone to attend a nearby relative’s house warming ceremony in Poinachi town. Adarsh was studying in 6th standard at a school in Tekkil Paramb.
People hearing his cries before drowning rushed to his aid but their efforts went in vain. However, he was later rushed to hospital.
His body has been kept in Kasargod general hospital mortuary and will be handed over to relatives after post mortem on Tuesday, December 27.
