Mandya: Prisons were made to tame and reform the devious minds, but that seems to be far from happening as the criminals who go behind bars continue to run their business swiftly from the dark prison cells without any glitch. Thanks to some jail authorities who develop unholy nexus with the inmates.
Here in Mandya, a Jail Superintendent has staked his job after going out of his way to extend VIP treatment to a rowdy-sheeter lodged in the prison.
Shivu alias Danger Shivu was serving jail in connection to murder of businessman and Congress leader H P Nagendra. It is here that Shivu developed friendship with a lady don named Bhagya (who was out of the jail) and plotted an abduction of a man named Market Kumar.
However, the plan of the duo bit dust after the police raided Shivu’s cell and recovered a mobile phone in which lady don’s number was stored. Plunging into action Mandya West police arrested Bhagya. The raid too was initiated by the police following allegations that all kinds of comforts were available to handful of inmates who bribed the jail authorities.
On digging deeper into the lifestyle that Shivu led inside the jail, the police discovered that Shivu had befriended jail Superintendent Sathish and with his help, Shivu used to manage to get drugs and all his other requirements met.
Close on the heels of this discovery, CM’s medal winner Sathish has been suspended. Apart from allegations of supplying mobile and ganja to Shivu, Sathish is also facing allegations of going out of his way to provide comforts to Shivu inside the jail.
