Gang trying to sell rare idol of Lord Krishna falls into police net in Mandya

Mandya: Eight persons who were out to sell a rare idol of Lord Krishna were nabbed by the Mandya police on Sunday.

The arrested are NM Sujan from Ainekkidu village in Dakshina Kannada, Mohommed Suneef from Lakshmi Layout, Darbe, Mohommed Basheer from Kariyangalamane, Govinda Raju from Nehrunagar in Mandya, Mujaab from Tavarekere, Balaraju from Chennarayapatna, Puttaswamy from Hassan and Rafiuddin from Bengaluru.

The eight had hired a room in Prince Lodge in Mandya city and the gang was trying to get through potential buyers for the valuable idol, operating from the room.
Acting on reliable information, the Mandya police raided the room and nabbed the eight and seized the rare idol made of Panchaloha or five metals.
