Madikeri: In a gory incident, a resident of Irale Valamudi village near Chettalli committed suicide by shooting self soon after dawn on October 9 morning.
Mahendra Varma, son of S S Narasimha, entered his parents room to shoot self in the head using a double barrel gun. He shot two rounds in his head to split the vital organs apart and was seen lying dead in a pool of blood within seconds.
His wife Anu Verma and little son rushed in to the room soon after they heard the gun shots. His brother, Abhimanyu informed head police constable Prakash of Chettalli division and within minutes Madikeri Rural Police Station personnel rushed to the spot.
The body of the deceased was handed to over to the family members after post-mortem at the medical college hospital in Madikeri.
The deceased is survived by wife, son, parents and brother. Police are investigating the cause behind the suicide.
