Virajpet: A 16-year-old teenager was booked under POCSO for sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl after luring her in Bethri village limits of Virajpet taluk.
Girl’s father Ravi lodged a missing complaint at Virajpet rural police station on October 3. Police during investigation nabbed Surya, a 16-year-old teenager, who had kept the victim in his custody.
During interrogation, Surya narrated the entire incident beginning with them getting attracted to each other during Ganesh festivities recently. Since the girl felt insecure in her family, she was taken with her due consent, Surya claimed.
In reality, he had taken the girl to his sister’s house and kept her there despite his sister’s warning. During the course of her stay, Surya repeatedly raped the minor, according to police.
Police booked Surya under IPC sections 363 and 376 and are investigating further.
