Madikeri: City Municipal Council President Srimathi Bangera has filed a complaint against Municipal Commissioner B B Pushpavathi and Audit Superintendent Hanumanthraju with regard to the seizure of Rs 97 lac from CMC accounts by the Provident Fund authorities over non-payment of PF. The complaint has been given to the Deputy Commissioner as well as the Department of Municipal Administration.
Informing that such an important issue was not brought to the notice of the CMC members, Bangera urged Deputy Commissioner Dr Richard Vincent D’Souza to initiate probe against the Municipal Commissioner and the Audit Superintendent.
It may be recalled that the said amount went into PF account following the non-payment of PF amount by the CMC from 2011 and issue had created ruckus in the CMC General Body meeting on Tuesday.
It was also learnt that the Municipal Commissioner had tried to bring a stay order on the seizure and even this move was not disclosed by her to the CMC members.
