Madikeri: The Deputy Commissioner has prohibited the sale of liquor in several parts of the district from the midnight of September 28 to the morning of October 1.
As per Excise Act 1965, under column 21, sale of liquor is prohibited in Madikeri, Suntikoppa, Kushalanagar and Gonikoppa towns and their adjoining areas extending up to 10 kms from the city centre.
This is being done to maintain law and order and ensure peaceful Dasara celebrations in the district, stated the order released from DC office.
