Madikeri: Kodagu DC paid a surprise visit to the City Municipal Council (CMC) office today and inspected files related to revenue collection.
After holding a discussion with the municipal commissioner and staff, Kodagu DC Dr. Richard Vincent D’Souza said there was a need to be proactive to ensure revenue collections do not dip to retard developmental activities.
Unhappy with staff not using identity cards at work place, Dr. D’Souza insisted that all working staff should use them during office hours.
He also visited the audit, revenue and engineering sections.
Municipal Commissioner B Shubha and few staff members accompanied the DC during the visit.
The track record of CMC in managing funds is below par in public domain with adverse reports appearing in media in the recent past on its functioning.
