Chikamagaluru: BJP Leader Jagadish Shettar’s statement that the Congress, which was comatose all this while has shot back to life with the Nanjangudu/Gundlupet by-polls, has not gone down well with the Home Minister.

Cybercrime police station opened exclusively for Bengaluru city-1G Parameshwar, who was in Chikamagaluru on Friday, said that Shettar should watch his words. “When the BJP was in power in the state the party had won 19 out of 20 by-polls and there was no doubt that the BJP had used money power to garner the votes. But, in the case of Nanjangudu, Gundlupete by-polls, the people have given their verdict on the basis of the pro-people policies of the CM of Karnataka and the schemes of the government.

Further, taking a dig on BJP state Chief B S Yeddyurappa who had stated that the twin by-polls were only semi-finals, Parameshwar said that BSY must know that the ones who lose in the semi-finals do not get entry into the finals.

“The BJP is claiming that it will win 150 seats, we are sure that the Congress will come to power at the state conveniently,” said Parameshwar.

When asked about the incident of the CM publicly insulting Mandya SP, the Home Minister defended the CM questioning what would have been the outcome if the protesters had pelted stone at the CM’s vehicles instead of showing black flag.
