Chikkamagaluru: A doctor is supposedly a life saviour. They are also believed to be the siblings of mythical character Yama. But, here in coffee land, a doctor seems to have connived with Yama by leaving a 3-year-old child paralysed with his treatment.
The parents of the child had approached the doctor since it was suffering from fever. The parents now allege that the Ayurvedic doctor had given some “English” {Allopathic) medicine which paralysed the left right leg of the child. Samarth from Chikkamagaluru was suffering from fever and he was taken to Sanjeevini clinic. The doctor there, Javeriya Shahi gave an injection which had adverse effects on the child’s mobility.

“From the last three months our child is not able to walk. He has also stopped eating food”, wailed the parents.

Later, the child was taken to Father Muller’s in Mangaluru and NIMHANS in Bengaluru. There the doctors told them that since the prick was given to a major nerve, the child was not able to walk.

The parents have now complained to the DHO but there has been no response yet. The parents have demanded strict action against the doctor.
