Home stays have mushroomed in the district to accommodate tourists and even visitors prefer them for weekend getaways. Software engineers, doctors, businessmen and even students flock the district in great numbers to get temporary relief from the busy city life enjoying the pleasant weather conditions.
Many visiting tourists consider the district as a true paradise on earth and even the state tourism department has given a lot of fillip to the home stay scheme to promote tourism in the state.
Many find home stay reasonable with prices hovering between Rs 2500 to Rs 3000 per day. District has around 200 home stays and 90 percent of them are booked for the New Year bash. With an increase in the number of tourists the remaining 10 percent too are likely to be occupied in the next couple of days. For many tourists, home stays have turned into stress relievers and for youth ideal hangouts and most are keen to make some noise in the serene surroundings.
