Chikkamagaluru: Mothers by instinct are those who forget about their self when it comes to their children and this is applicable to all mothers, no matter who it is.
In a touching episode that took place in Chikkamagaluru, a female dog who littered three puppies fought out a venomous snake for hours together just to make sure that her young ones were safe. However, her fight went futile as the snake was successful in killing the puppies towards the end.
The five-year-old pet belonging to Omkaramurthy in Muguluvalli village had delivered three puppies on August 24 and on Thursday, a snake landed in the vicinity where the dog lived with its puppies. While threat loomed large over the little ones, the mother plunged to fight out the snake and safeguarded the puppies for several hours.
However, in the bid, the canine lost it when the snake ultimately broke the fort and killed the three puppies.
Finally when snake expert Naresh rushed to the house and retrieved the puppies, they were dead. Naresh has also captured the snake.
After the death of the puppies, pall of gloom engulfed the mother’s life and the locality resounded her intermittent wailing as she searched for her young ones in surroundings of the house.
