Real life police constable saves reel life Bollywood villain

Raipur: Noted actor Ashish Vidyarthi, known for his antagonist characters in Telugu and Hindi films, has been rescued from a flooded river near Bhillai while shooting for his upcoming movie Bollywood Diary, police said on Monday.

The mishap took place on Sunday evening when the actor was doing a scene with his on-screen son in the river. As per the script, the duo was to take a dip in the river and then pray.

As the shooting was in progress, Vidyarthi was apparently swept away deeper in the river by its current and started drowning. The onlookers, including the crew. Soon, the director Krishna Rav realised the gravity of the situation and shouted for help.

A police constable, Vikash Singh, deployed at the site, rescued the actor from drowning. “Professional actors like me usually exercise utmost caution in such situations. This nightmarish incident has taught me a lesson,”  a nervous looking Vidyarthi said.
