New Delhi: A total of 821 passengers are now being tracked for the deadly Ebola virus, the health ministry said on Wednesday.

Most of them are in the states of Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Two passengers – a doctor and a physiotherapist – who were admitted in the RML Hospital for further treatment after being tested negative for Ebola, have responded to anti-malarial treatment and are free of fever now, a statement said Wednesday.

One of them has now been discharged.

However, one passenger travelling from Nigeria was found symptomatic and quarantined at an isolation facility at the Delhi airport. Her report is awaited, the statement said.

Five passengers who travelled from affected countries and were quarantined at the airport’s isolation facility Tuesday have tested negative for Ebola and were discharged.

Meanwhile, 113 people, including two Nepalese nationals, have been brought back from Liberia to India.

All of them were found to be healthy, except one who had fever and a sore throat. He has been discharged from the quarantine-cum-isolation facility at the Delhi airport after testing negative for Ebola.

State governments have been requested to ensure tracking and monitoring of these passengers.

Since Tuesday, 148 passengers from the affected countries have arrived at the airports of Mumbai (30), Delhi (92), Kochi (8), Bangalore (15) and Chennai (3).

According to the WHO, there have been 2,615 cases and 1,427 deaths reported in the Ebola-affected nations of Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria so far.
