Varanasi: It appears that the Election Commission has so far traced 3,11,057 fake voters who cast their votes in Varanasi in the Lok Sabha election earlier this year. The district administration is expecting the number of fake voters to reach around 6,47,085 by the end of the examination process according sources.
The process of verification of voters is still continuing and authorities accepts that the fake voters can be double to this numbers.
On the direction of Election Commission district administration is verifying the voter list on door to door basis. This process was initially started to add the new voters who have attained the age of 18 years in the 2015 voter list.
During this checking process so far 3,11,057 fake voters are already traced who have already casted their votes in last Lok Sabha election.
The district administration is expecting that fake voters in this constituency may cross the six lakh marks also.
This new finding has raised many questions on so called roaring victory of Narendra Modi as BJP candidate from this constituency.
It may be recalled that Modi had won Varanasi Lok Sabha seat with 3,71,784 votes by defeating AAP President Arvind Kejriwal while Congress candidate Ajay Rai was third with 75,614 votes.
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has sharply criticized BJP for making fake voters to win the election. AAP has also published details of this revelations on social media also.
