Hubballi: The city police have arrested two persons for allegedly facilitating online cricket betting and seized electronic equipment and cash from them.
The arrested have been identified as Gajanan Kathare (44), a resident of Keshwapur and Raghavendra Hanumsagar (22), a resident of Moorusavir Matt area in Hubballi.
Hubballi-Dharwad Commissioner of Police Pandurang Rane told reporters that the arrested were businessmen and accused of involving in facilitating online cricket betting for the IPL cricket match held in Pune the previous day.
On a tip off, police raided a residence near M T Mills Grounds here and found them facilitating betting during the match between Raising Pune Supergiants and the Mumbai Indians using line machine, mobile phones and other equipment.
The police have recovered a line machine, mobile phones, LED TV, a laptop and a cash of Rs 10,000 during the raid.
