Hubballi: In a preplanned act, two unidentified persons waylaid and attacked two persons coming on a bike with a money bag and fled the scene in filmy style after snatching the bag containing Rs. 12 Lakh from the riders at Sarvodaya Circle in Hubballi on Thursday night.
The duo losing the money-Basavaraj Kandagal and Manish are employed at a grocery shop belonging to a businessman Ramesh Bhafna at Akkihonda in Hubballi.
The duo was carrying Rs. 12 Lakh to the residence of their owner Bhafna. Soon they were waylaid at Sarvodaya circle by two persons and when Basavaraj who was riding the bike did not stop, they pushed the pillion rider thus bringing the bike to a halt. The moment they fell down, the culprits manhandled them before they decamped with the money on a Pulser bike, it is said.
The injured Basavaraj has been admitted to a private hospital.
A case has been registered with Keshwapur Police Station.
