Hubballi: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar has expressed doubts over the authenticity of the report by the Forensic Science Laboratory on the video clipping of a purported conversation between the former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and Union Minister H N Ananth Kumar allegedly pertaining to payments made to the BJP high command.
Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, Shettar said that the quick pace of the inquiry had further strengthened the suspicion that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was misusing his office to target his political opponents.
“While the complaint of the BJP Legal Cell against ministers Basavaraj Rayaraddi, Ramesh Kumar, M B Patil and MLC Ugrappa on the same issue has not been acted upon, the police are showing alacrity in the video clipping case. It clearly shows what Siddaramaiah’s intention is in the case”, he said.
He added that if Siddaramaiah did not stop his acts of political vengeance, then people would teach him a lesson in the next election. He also said that the BJP Legal Cell would take legal course on the issue.
Shettar also asked why the same urgency was not being shown in the inquiry into the murder of M M Kalburgi and Gauri Lankesh.
