Hubballi: An industrial corridor would be developed near Belur Industrial Area in Dharwad with assistance from the Centre. This corridor would be developed on public-private partnership (PPP) model, said MP Pralhad Joshi.
Speaking at the inauguration of the two-day “TiECON-2017” entrepreneurship summit organised by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Hubballi chapter here, Joshi said that in the next couple of years people of the twin cities would get better facilities after the ongoing projects are completed. Out of the Rs 470 Crore sanctioned by the Centre for the development of roads in the district, Rs 370 Crore has been earmarked for the development of concrete roads in the twin cities, he said.
Stressing on industrial development in Tier 2 and 3 cities in view of more rural people migrating towards bigger cities seeking jobs, Joshi said both industry and agriculture should get due focus, calling on more entrepreneurs to emerge in this situation.
Former CM Jagadish Shettar stressed on the need for containing red tapism in bureaucracy which was haunting entrepreneurs.
MLA Aravind Bellad stressed on promoting entrepreneurial mindset in North Karnataka region and encouraging traditional business families to go for modern ways.
District In-charge Minister Vinay Kulkarni, former minister Basavaraj Bommai, Marvel Properties Managing Director Veeresh Kulkarni, TiE Hubballi Chapter President Sandeep Bidasaria and others were present.
