Hubballi: BJP National General Secretary Muralidhar Rao, who is the in-charge of the party’s affairs in Karnataka, has said that Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was willing to hold talks for resolving Mahadayi dispute out-of-the-tribunal but only if Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah convinced Congress Party leaders in Goa.

Speaking to reporters in Hubballi, Rao noted that the Goa BJP was ready for talks regarding the inter-state dispute over Mahadayi water sharing due to the initive taken by State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa.

“Yeddyurappa approached the chief ministers of Goa and Maharashtra, for holding talks. We will take care of BJP in Goa and Parrikar is our man. If Siddaramaiah convinces Goa Congress for resolving the dispute through talks, the problem would be solved within 15 days,” he said.

He said the BJP was ready to face Assembly elections in the state any time.

“With the ‘New Karnataka, Corruption-free Karnataka and Progress of Karnataka’ theme, Parivarthana Yatra will be conducted in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah will also take part in it,” Rao said.
