Hubballi: Former chief minister Veerappa Moily stated that the Congress Party in the state had maximum unity, as the differences between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC President G Parameshwara were resolved, while BJP’s infighting was clearly visible.

Speaking to media persons in Hubballi, he opined that Ananthkumar Hegde was made the union minister instead of Suresh Angadi or Prahlad Joshi, due to the infighting in BJP.

“Having leaders like B S Yeddyurappa and with infighting, BJP cannot win more than 30 seats in forthcoming Legislative Assembly elections in the state. The situation and culture in Karnataka are not similar to that of Uttar Pradesh. Fall of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would begin with the victory of Congress in next Assembly polls in the State,” he said.

Like in Haryana, BJP wanted people to be killed in violence in Karnataka also and therefore, it organised “Mangaluru Chalo” bike rally. But, the State Government successfully stopped that, he noted.

Intolerance across the country is increasing after BJP came to power at the Centre, while journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh’s murder is the latest example, he opined. There are similarities in the murder of several rationalists, he said.

Congress Party leaders H V Madalli, Nagaraj Chebbi, Sadanand Danganavar and others were present.
