Hassan :JD(S) Supremo and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda who has dubbed the proposed Yettinahole Project as unscientific, has warned of taking to streets in the days to come if the government failed to reconsider the project.
Speaking to media men here, Gowda said the political leaders were all set to lay the foundation for the project for their selfish political gains and added the technical report of the project has not been seen by the experts or senior engineers of the Water Resources Department. Confusion prevails even with regard to the survey pertaining to the project as well as the project estimates, Gowda added.
If Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has any genuine concern for the welfare of the people living in drought prone areas, then he should convene a meeting of elected representatives of the districts in the presence of advocates, experts and engineers, he further suggested.
