Monthi Fest Celebration by Karaval Milan, Dubai

Dubai: Karaval Milan, Dubai celebrated the popular and traditional ‘Monthi Feast’ also known as ‘The Feast of  Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary’on 12th Sept 2014 at President Hotel, Dubai.

The program started with a warm welcome from President Naveen D’Souza which was followed by a prayer led by Pius James D’Souza. All the children entered the hall in a procession to offer flowers to Mother Mary. The gathering sang traditional Konkani hymns like ‘Sokkod Sangata Mellean’ and ‘Moriyek Hogollsiyan’,  while the children offered flowers to Mother Mary.

After the offering of flowers, Ajith Peter D’souza narrated the history of the origin of  Monthi feast in order to bring the significance of the feast to the knowledge of the younger generation. Children listened with rapt attention. Later there was a short quiz related to the theme of story with prizes given to the children who answered correctly.

Later, in a stage program the 7th musical album of the ever popular Wilson Olivera, Padukone was released by Frank Fernandes of Mosaco Shipping Dubai. Dayan D’souza Mukamar & Lancy Madtha of Integrated Freights, Dubai were present during the occasion.

Exciting games were conducted by Wilson D’sa for children. Prizes were distributed to the winners.

Mind-blowing music by talented Goldina D’Souza along with the budding young guitarists Wallace D’sa & Clive D’souza enthralled the gathering. Melodious songs were sung by Rony Byndoor, Ajith Peter, Miller Rodrigues, Shyny D’souza, Gretta D’Souza, Jessy Nazreth, Malaika Carnelio, Chelsea D’sa  which entertained everyone.

Comedy king Stany D’cunha(Bulla) along with Naveen D’Souza & Pius James entertained everyone with comedy filled skits. Filmy dances by small children(Jenessa D’Sliva, Joylen Lewis, Clivisha Fernandes, Clivio Fernandes, Aaron D’Sliva, Larisa Nazareth) added color  to the event.

Alban D’silva conducted a short prayer before serving of the authentic and traditional ‘Novem Jevon’. The program concluded with traditional Baila Dance.

Nanu Marol, Thottam compered the entire event in his own unique style.
