MVCA celebrates ‘Monthi Fest’ in Dubai

Dubai: ‘Udenthichim Neketram’, Moodbidri Varado Catholic Association (MVCA) celebrated ‘Monthi Fest’ and ‘Novem Jevonn’ at Institute of Applied Technology – Al Quasis, Dubai on Friday, September 12, 2014.

The day program commenced with a prayer dance by talented ‘Ocean Kids dance institute’. President, Mr. Arun Dsouza warmly welcomed the audience; he thanked the sponsors and well wishers for supporting and strengthening MVCA for the last 10 years.

Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest of the programme Mr. Roni D’cunha (Chairman Volunteer sodality, St. Mary’s church Dubai.), admired the unity between 13 parishes of Udenthichim Neketram. He wished all the very best for decennial celebration of the association. ‘Your sacrifice for your children & family is great’ he said to domestic helps, who were specially invited for the celebration and present in good numbers.

The main part of the event, venerating and glorifying our infant mother Mary, was led by our own Fr.Valerian Fernandes as per religious custom with children proceeding in a procession and showering flowers, to the rhythm of “Sakkad Sangatha Melyam” and “Mariyek Hogolsiam”.

It was a blessed ambience when whole audience joined the beat. In his message Fr.Valerian talk about importance of Mother Mary in our lives and wished everyone a happy family feast. Sugarcane was distributed to everyone present at the programme, which brought back golden memories of childhood days for many.

To encourage the talents within Moodbidri Varado and also for Mangalorean Catholics a ‘Talent Show’ was held. Many participants showed their talents in different fields, which was much appreciated by audience. All participants were honoured as a token of appreciation for their lovely performance.
 
Skits from talented artists Joel Correa & team, Alwyn Pinto and Team of Udenthichim Neketram and Dances from Lorin and team, Venisha & Team and Ocean Kids group were entertained the audience. Housie game was ably conducted by Richard Saldanha & attractive prizes were distributed to the winners.

Lunch was served in banana leaf and was a traditional treat of variety of vegetables and Vorn from Al Shay Restaurant. Every one relished it and altogether a typical Mangalorean atmosphere could be felt. Music was provided by DJ Clevan.

Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr.Jhon Rego. The Entire programme was compered by Joshve Dsouza and kept audience entertained with his humorous touch.

The program concluded at 4.30pm and the audience of about 250 enjoyed it to the full and expressed their satisfaction and gave positive reviews.
