MCC Celebrates Monthi Fest with Zeal

Qatar: Mangaloreans in Qatar celebrated Monthi Fest in a typical Mangalorean style by sharing the new corns and then joining together for ‘novem jevann’ at Al Ghazal hall on 12th Sep Friday evening.

Mr. Eric Correa, philanthropist & Managing Trustee of Souharda foundation, was the chief guest of the grand function. Fr. Anand Castelino OFM Cap of Our Lady of Rosary church Qatar was guest of honour. President Norbert corda, vice president Prakash Noronha, Philanthropist Jerry D’mello escorted the guests to the stage.

 The function was followed by felicitation to those who served MCC community- Cultural secretary Riana pinto, and former president Sunil D’silva, David D’souza and sports secretary Alexious castelino.  MCC felicitated them for their great service to community and outside community.

The academic achievers Brian Danty, Mitchelle Machado,Samantha Fernandes, Aaron Mendonca, Linitha Pinto, Richelle Andrade, Alric Dsouza, Andria Dsouza, Neil Dsouza, Jessica Dsouza, Nadine dsouza, Naveen D’Almeida, Joyline Dmello, Royston Buthello, Amelita Martis, Aaron Pinto and Candida Rodrigues were honoured with mementos.

Meanwhile MCC honoured Eric Correa for his great social work. Newsletter “Sugandh” was also released during the occation. Fr.Anand blessed “Nove Jevon” prepared from new corn.

The function was followed with colourful cultural programme. Clarissa, christle, Alphonse D’silva , Eva Wilma & Glen carlo entertained the audience with melodious songs, meanwhile the foot tapping dances by Joylene D’Mello group and Mishal Lobo group were applauded from the audience. 

Aloysius Dsouza, Merlyn Dsouza, Anil Cutinha & Savious Crasta entertained the audience with a skit. MCC members together prepared pure Vegetarian food for more than 1000 members.

TKQ president Ravi Shetty, KSQ president Deepak shetty and other Karnataka based community members joined the function to celebrate festival.

Alexious Castelino proposed vote of thanks and Rita compered the whole event.
