KSQ felicitates wildlife Photographer TNA Perumal and Clement Francis

Qatar: Karnataka Sangha Qatar felicitated two well known legends from Karnataka  – “Father of Wild life Photography” T N A Perumal and World renown Bird Photographer – Clement M Francis on Sunday at Ashoka Hall – ICC.

T.N.A.Perumal and Clement M Francis were Chief Guest of Honors ; Girish Kumar President ICC and  Arvind Patil President ICBF, Dileep Kumar Chief Advisor of Environmental Minister in Qatar were Chief Guest of the evening. KSQ president Deepak Shetty and Vice president Nagesh Rao escorts the guest to the dias. The felicitation was included with Shawl, Mysore Peta and a Memento.

Perumal address the gathering and shared his life experience with Kannada literature and Wildlife photography.

Speaking on the occasion Deepak Shetty said that this is KSQ’s commitment in achieving common objective of recognizing those who are working towards Environment Sustainability and encouraging the youth for Wildlife photography.

Tulukoota President Ravi Shetty, Bunts Qatar President Prakashchandra Ajila, ICC secretary Divakar Poojary and other Organization officials were present on the occasion.

About T.N.A Perumal

T.N.A. Perumal or Thanjavur Nateshacharya Ayyam Perumal (born 1932) is a wildlife photographer from Bangalore, Karnataka, India.  He started taking photographs of flora and fauna in 1960 and he has been awarded with several awards for his photography. He is a member of Mysore Photographic Society, Bangalore since 1961
.
T.N.A.Perumal showed excellence in black and white photographs during the 1960s and 1970s and his prints were appreciated by one and all. He was jury for several photographic contests. He has more than 1500 acceptances in international salons and has more than 200 awards/merits. He has also given tips and guidance to youngsters who are interested in wildlife photography.

‘Encounters in the forest’, ‘Photographing wildlife in India – field guide for photographers’, ‘Some South Indian butterflies’, ‘A Concise Field Guide to Indian Insects and Arachnids’ are some of his major publications. He is settled in Bangalore and working on (as of 2012) his book Reminiscences of a Wildlife Photographer which contains all his important photographs, numbering more than 300.

About Clement M Francis

Clement M Francis is a Birder and Wildlife Photographer from Bangalore, India. He has been travelled the length and breadth of great nation India to document and photograph the variety of birds found in the country. He is spreading the message of CONSERVATION through his photography. He has got involved in various conservation related activities in India. He also co-authored the “Birds of Western Ghats, Konkan & Malabar”, a photographic bird guide. 

Clement was also nominated for 9th Annual Teacher’s Achievement Awards – 2009 in the Communication photography category. This is a national level recognition here in India and he is the only wildlife photographer who has been nominated for this award ever.
