Muscat: A 29-year-old Indian expatriate died in a road accident in Oman, media here has reported.

P. Najeeb, who worked in a private firm in Nizwa, 140 km from Oman’s capital Muscat, was killed when his car hit a divider and overturned while he was on his way to Nizwa from Muscat Friday, Times of Oman reported Saturday.

Shameer P.T.K., a social worker, said the victim was driving a rented car.

Najeeb, who hailed from the south Indian state of Kerala, was returning to Nizwa after meeting his father.

“We are processing the required papers to send his body back to Kerala,” Shameer said.

The body is likely to be repatriated to India Sunday.

Meanwhile, Najeeb’s father has been hospitalised following cardiac arrest on hearing the news of his son’s death, the report said.
