Basava Samithi UAE celebrates Basava Jayanthi in a grand manner

Dubai: “Basava Jayathi” was celebrated in a grand manner, at the JSS hall on May 1st. The Chief Guest of the programme were priests from the Sri GuruBasava temple, Pandomati and Ramajan Darga. Humor speaker Basavaraj Mahamani was also present. Suma along with ‘Purnakambha’ and Arati welcomed the dignitaries and the guests.

The programme began with the dance, ‘Ganesha Vandana’ by Ku. Disksha Revanna. Dubai’s advisory committee consisting of Shivakumar, Murugesh Gajaray, Malikarjun Mullur, Chandra Shekara Lingadalli, Sangamesh Nisaralli, Sri Rudraiah, Rupa Nandeesh were escorted to the dais and they lit the Basava Jyothi.

Abhishek Gajaray and Sharmilla Jyothi explained the importance of the Basava Jyothi through the poem of Sri Iranna.

In his keynote speech, Mr. Nandeesh welcomed the congregation to the Basava Samithi UAE, and paid gratitude to the Mysuru Suthur Math Swami Shivarathareshwara.

Ramajan Dargh addressing the gathering said that the Basava vachana’s of the 12 century assert a simply and a common life. According to Basavanna’s principles, all communities must be treated equally and the teachings of Basavanna must be spread to all.

On the occasion children dressed as famous leaders of the nation entertained the audience, this was followed by a classical music performance.

Many of Dubai’s elite attended the celebrations including Mr Prakash Payyaru, Ravish Gowda, Tonse Manohar, Satish Venkataramana and others were present.

Ganesh Rai designed the banner and Anita delivered the vote of thanks.
