Kalaburagi: In continuation to the police suicide spree, going on since first week of July, another policeman ended life in Kalaburagi on Thursday. The deceased is Anna Rao (46), Head Constable in Armed Reserve Force.
Hailing from Chittapur village of Bhankur, Anna Rao was earlier working as Constable in KSRP and was promoted as Head Constable one and half year ago. He was then deputed as Head Constable in IRP Batallion in Vijayapura. However, many of his efforts to get a transfer to Kalaburagi had failed in the past.
It is said that dejected by this, Anna Rao ended life by hanging himself to the ceiling fan in his quarters in Kalaburagi. However, the other theory which is making rounds is that Anna Rao was suffering from health issues which he was worried about and this too could be the reason behind his move.
The state was jolted by two incidents of DySP suicides in the month of July. Another PSI attempted suicide couple of days ago.
