Mangaluru: As memorable melodies of legends like Kishore Kumar, Mohommed Rafi, Latha Mangeshkar and others came alive during the musical extravaganza-Tribute to Legends', the Town Hall, Mangaluru reverberated with the chorus of 'Once More' from the audience.
The event held on Sunday was truly a 'Tribute to Legends' because it gave a chance to the audience to relive the bygone era, when these legends ruled the hearts of music lovers.
The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest R Francis Fernandes, a well-known UAE based entrepreneur, along with former Femina miss India Poonam Dhillon who had acted in more than hundred Bollywood movies.
Upon inaugurating the event, R Francis Fernandes said that he always loved music and he got good support from his parents also.
Guest of Honour of the programme Poonam Dhillon was all praise for Port city of Mangaluru.
Recalling the days when she got the chance to work with some of the renowned artists of Bollywood, Dhillon said that Bollywood unites people from across the world.
“These are the people who gave us melodies that will live for generations and generation to come. Music expresses feelings that can never be coined in words. It means a lot to me to represent Bollywood film industry here in Mangaluru,” she said.
Shrikant and his team members Anita, Ranjan, Mohammed Shafi and Akhila hypnotized the people who witnessed the event with their sweet melodious voice.
The songs were chosen from the famous Hindi movies like Julie, Mukaddar Ka Sikandar, Mere naam Joker and many more. The song ‘Jeena Yaha Marna Yaha’ sung by Shrikant moved everyone in the hall.
The successful show had jam packed audience who sung along as the artists recalled the melodies of the bygone era.
