Dharwad: Police security has been provided to the Kannada poet Channaveer Kanavi, literary critic Giraddi Govindaraj, and veteran journalist Patil Puttappa.
According to Police sources, the police security have been provided to these persons following the murder of journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru recently, to avoid any risk.
Police security was provided to Giraddi Govindraj in the aftermath of the murder of noted research scholar M M Kalburgi, and it has been continued now.
For last two days round the clock police security has been provided at his residence and one security personnel will accompany him during the outdoor visits.
