Dharwad: In its constant endeavour to improve SSLC results in the district, the Department of Public Instructions, in association with Vaishudeep Foundation and Prerana Samiti has come out with a novel idea to help students gain more marks in SSLC examination.

Implementation of “Passing Package” in all subjects is one amongst them which fetches 30 marks easily to the students, said District in-Charge Minister Vinay Kulkarni.

Inaugurating one such special “Phone-in” programme to interact with SSLC students to clear their doubts regarding their studies, the minister said this time 28,057 students were appearing for SSLC examinations in the district. Prior to the annual examination, the NGO Vaishudeep Foundation will conduct an examination  wherein performance levels of the students would be identified and they would be trained as per requirement free of cost.

This preliminary examination will be held in 182 centres across the district. The poor performing students will be given special classes and phone-in programme will help them get their doubts cleared. So far the foundation has received around 2500 such calls in 9 weeks since the facility was launched, Kulkarni said.

The question papers prepared for the preliminary examination were handed over to the DDPI on the occasion.

Vaishudeep Foundation Secretary Shivaleela Kulkarni among others was present.
