Dharwad: Members of district congress staged protest on Monday expressing deep anguish over replacement of Mahatma Gandhi photo with that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Calendar published by Government owned Khadi Gramodyoga Mandali.
By replacing Mahatma’s photo the Prime Minister has meted out insult to the father of the nation, which the Congress party would not tolerate said members.
Addressing the protesting Congress party members who held protest infront of Deputy Commisioner’s office the former deputy mayor Deepak Chinchore said just by holding Charaka Modi cannot become Mahatma. Modi who was trying to become hero infront of youths of nation has remained as Khalnayak, he said.
No person can fill the position of Mahatma in our country which Modi must keep in mind he said adding that RSS supported Modi must seek public apology of Indian for his heinous act. Even the BJP government has made use of spectacles of Mahatma in its cleanliness campaign, the Center must stop such gimmicks, or else the President should dislodge the BJP government, he said.
