Bengaluru: This is a classic example of corruption haunting the state higher education sector. On Wednesday, the state higher education department was forced to cancel the written test scheduled for the appointment of teaching and non teaching staff by Davanagere University following the complaints that written test question papers were leaked. The University had scheduled the examinations on Friday, September 22.
According to the sources, Davanagere University was asked not to go ahead with any appointments by the state higher education department recently. But university went ahead with its appointment decision stating it has no faculty both in teaching and nonteaching sections. “But sadly now written test has been cancelled as question papers were leaked to all those who allegedly have close links with few anti social elements. As complaints we received are genuine we directed the university to cancel the written test,” explained an officer.
“Around 900 candidates were scheduled to write examination,” he said.
