Bengaluru: Siddamma, 110-year-old, a resident of Police quarters in Chitradurga created a new record in India’s fight against Covid-19.

Siddamma, who was admitted to Chitradurga district hospital on July 27, after being tested positive for Covid-19 was discharged on Saturday evening after just five days of treatment. She is the oldest person in the country to win the battle against Covid-19.

District Health Officer Basavaraj gave her a send off on Saturday evening after receiving her lab reports, which confirmed that she is now virus-free.

Siddamma contracted the Corona virus in the last week of July from an unknown source. As she was old, there was a fear among the family members that the infection may put her life at risk.

“I have never known what fear is. The doctors treated me well and gave good food. Covid-19 hospital is very good,” she heaped praises before leaving the hospital.
