Chikkaballapura: A farmer who attempted suicide in front of the District Commisioner died here on Friday at Victoria Hospital
Anand Kumar from Angarekhanahalli village is the deceased farmer.
Following the demise of the farmer, several organisations gave call for a bandh across Chikkaballapura for which police have beefed up security.
On April 20, Anand Kumar had attempted suicide by consuming pesticide in front of District Commissioner Dr M V Venkatesh. Immediately he was taken to Victoria hospital in Bengaluru and was shifted to ICU. But he died today.
Anand Kumar had grown cashew nuts and was heartbroken when the minimum price quoted was too low. Soon, he headed towards DC office premises and consumed poison in distress.
