Chikkaballapura : Social media has become one of the easiest tools to announce major political decisions for young leaders nowadays. Chikkaballapura MLA Dr. Sudhakar used Twitter for two consecutive days to ensure that party state leadership will listen to his grievances.
Dr. Sudhakar, a first time MLA from Chikkaballapura sent shock waves in the Congress state unit on July 6 with a one line tweet stating that he is resigning as Chikkaballapura MLA at 11 am on Thursday.
“Indebted to people of Chikkaballapur, my party, KPCC president, Mistry, @CMofKarnataka,” he stated on his twitter.
As expected party leaders started to react on his Twitter itself. Fisheries minister Pramod Madhwaraj was the first one to reply stating don’t take any hasty decision.
As he had tagged his tweet to several party national leaders, state leaders were forced to mediate immediately. KPCC working president Dinesh Gundurao and Chikkaballapur district in-charge minister Ramalinga Reddy rushed to his residence on Friday to convince him not to resign.
By evening Sudhakar tweeted again stating that he had a meeting with his senior colleagues and as per their advice, he had withdrawn the resignation. “I was deeply pained due to the treatment meted out to a senior member and hence had taken the decision yesterday,” he tweeted.
