Mangaluru: A blood donation camp was organised by Yenepoya University in association with Yenepoya Physiotherapy College and South Canara Physiotherapy teachers association here on Monday September 19 at Yenepoya auditorium.
The camp was inaugurated by Higher education minister Basavaraya Reddy. In his inaugural address, the minister said, “Yenepoya institution has been doing a noble deed by organising blood donation camps.”
Vice-chancellor of Yenepoya University Dr M Vijaykumar welcomed the guests and spoke on the importance of blood donation.
Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department minister U T Khader was present on the occasion.
Yenepoya University Registrar Dr Shrikumar Menon rendered the vote of thanks. More than 100 teachers, students and staff voluntarily donated blood in the camp.
Yenepoya University Farhad Yenepoya, Finance Officer of Yenepoya University Mohammed Bava, Prof Abdul Rahiman, Yenepoya Physiotherapy college principal Prof S Padma Kumar, Yenepoya Nursing college principal Prof Asha P Shetty, Dr Abdul Rahiman and others were present.
