Yenepoya conducts free blood and obesity screening programme

Mangaluru: The Yenepoya University in association with the Mangalore City Police Commissioner’s office conducted a free blood and obesity screening programme on March 6 to celebrate World Kidney Day at the Commissioner’s office.

Dr Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioner, Crime was the chief guest for the programme. Commissioner Chandrasekhar IPS, ACP Valentine D’Souza and officers and inspectors from various police stations in Mangalore City attended the function. Around 137 policemen of Mangalore City benefited from the free Blood and Obesity screening programme.

Dr Mujeeburahiman ,Chief Urologist; Dr Santhosh Pai, Chief Nephrologist; Dr Sudesh Shetty, Physician and Urologists Dr Altaf Khan and Dr Nischith D’Souza of the Yenepoya Medical College Hospital were the subject experts and gave talks on the various aspects of kidney care and health.

The DCP stated that this was a one of a kind of screening programme conducted for the police personnel and gave his assurance of full cooperation to Yenepoya University and the Yenepoya Medical College Hospital to conduct similar such programmes in other areas like Panambur, Moodabidri etc.
