St Aloysius B. Ed College observes Eid Mubarak

Mangaluru: St Aloysius B. Ed College observed one of the significant religious festivals of the Muslims ‘Eid Mubarak’ to mark inter-religious harmony. Various cultural competitions symbolizing brotherhood and fraternity were conducted. Suman Kadri, Proprietor-Frolic Event Management Company, Mangalore, judged the competitions.

Mohammud Farhan Nadwi (Teacher in Islamic Studies, Iqura Arabic School, Mangalore) was the Chief Guest. In his speech he highlighted that the fasting for thirty days helps in the purification of one self and transformation in life. He thanked the Management and College Principal for organising Eid Mubarak to develop brotherhood.

Fr Traung Phem SJ (Asst. Prof. Seattle University, Washington, USA) was the Guest of Honour. He was felicitated by the College Authorities. Fr Dr Melwyn D Cunha SJ (Vice Principal, St Joseph’s College, Bangalore) and Fr Eric Mathias SJ (Director of the College) graced the occasion.

Dr Mrs Farita Viegas, Principal, appreciated the hard work of students in putting up the programme and she also invited the students to become the beacons of peace and harmony in society.

Fr Britto welcomed the gathering. Mr Hameed highlighted the significance of observing Eid. Mr Mohammed and Fr Nelson introduced the Chief Guest and Guest of honour, and the judge. Bro. Royal SJ compeered the programme. Vinnie D Costa proposed the vote of thanks. Sandhya (Lecturer) organized the event.
