Mangaluru: The Department of Dermatology, in association with IADVL KARAVALI conducted the “Prof. J N Shetty Memorial Oration and Karavali Dermatology Society Clinical Meeting” at Decennial Memorial Hall, Father Muller Medical College, Mangaluru on September 24.
The programme started with the inaugural function. Dr. Sukumar D, Prof & HoD welcomed the gathering. Dr. Ramesh Bhat M, IADVL President Elect 2017 addressed the gathering about the various IADVL academic activities. Dr. Arun C Inamdar, President–IADVL Karnataka, Prof & Head, Dermatology, BLDE Medical College, Bijapur was the Chief Guest. The presidential address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, Administrator, FMMCH. Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes, Administrator, FMMC; Dr. Jayaprakash Alva, Dean, FMMC and Dr. Girish B S, President KDS were also present during the inauguration. Dr. Rochelle Monteiro proposed a vote of thanks.
The Prof. J N Shetty Memorial Oration was delivered by Dr. Arun C Inamdar. The oration topic was “Battle with psoriasis: Translating available resources into management.” Dr. Ganesh S Pai, Medical Director, Dermacare, Mangalore and Narendra J Shetty, Prof & HoD, AJIMS, Mangalore chaired the session. Dr. Arun C Inamdar was felicitated and presented with a memento. Dr. Arun C Inamdar also presented an interesting talk on “Primary Immunodeficiency in Children: How to approach?” which was well appreciated by dermatologists and paediatricians alike. The session was chaired by Dr. Pavan Hegde, Professor & HoD, Department of Paediatrics, FMMC and Dr. Jerome Pinto, Consultant Dermatologist, Mangalore.

This scientific session was chaired by Dr. Jacintha Martis, Professor, FMMC; Dr. Gatha Upadya, Professor KMC, Mangalore; Dr. Prof Girish B S, Prof & HoD, KSHEMA and Prof. Raghavendra Rao, Professor, KMC, Manipal.
A total of 92 delegates participated in this scientific event.
