Bachelor of Planning’ course inaugurated at NITTE

Mangaluru: ‘Integrity and ethics must be the part of the profession of both architect and planner as the Nation depends upon them and trusts them with National interest’, said Vidyadhar S. Wodeyar, Former President, Indian Institute of Architecture, Karnataka chapter.

He was speaking while inaugurating the Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning programmes of the current batch at Nitte School of Architecture, Bengaluru.

Further he added that there will be huge demand for both architects and planners in future as Government of India is working towards making our cities and villages smarter and eco-friendly so as to make them world class in all respects.

Prof. N.R. Shetty, Chancellor Central University of Karnataka presided over the function. In his presidential address he gave a call to all professional institutions to explore new avenues by introducing innovative courses like Bachelor of planning and interior decoration, where there is an acute shortage of skilled and qualified manpower. He complimented Nitte School of Architecture for introducing Bachelor of planning first time in the state of Karnataka.

Sri. Venkat Satish, Executive Committee member of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Dr. H.C. Nagaraj, Dean, Engineering, VTU and Prof. Rekha Jetty, Director, Nitte School of Architecture were also present.
